Catastrophizing

assuming a situation IS or would BE a catastrophe -- something we couldn't handle, a deal-changer

Sounds like this:

“I won’t be able to handle it when…”
“It’ll be a disaster if…”
“This is TOO MUCH!”
“I can’t handle it if…”
“It will all be over if…”

Perhaps change this into:

IF this happens, I will find a solution.
That didn’t happen, and I am very GRATEFUL!
I have been through worse. I will make it through this as well.
I will find a way to deal with this IF it even happens.
Change is inevitable, and variety is a spice of life. I wonder how it will be if…
