Mindful Foci
Notice each emotion or thought: I see you [name it]. I set you FREE now.
Put on earphones and listen deeply to music that has several instruments. Try to isolate each instrument and follow it for one minute or more.
Meditate WITH strong emotions, allowing room for them and asking your body where the emotion “lives” and WHY.
With each inhale say “engage” and picture something you engaged with today. Exhales = “release/detach” = what you let GO today.
Choose to keep your eyes OPEN, and focus on the way LIGHT hits objects around you: does it reflect light? how does the color change?
Hold an object like a smooth stone in your hands while you meditate. Feel its weight shift as you slowly move it around.
Everyday Rituals
Let the wind “answer” a question for you. ASK, then FEEL.
Fold your blanket or clothes with affection, like tucking in someone you love.
Put on “armor” (real or imagined) before facing something hard—jewelry, shoes, scent, etc.
Light a colored candle for a specific emotion or desire (blue for calm, red for courage, green for growth).
Every time you open a door, take a deep breath and say, “I step forward into new possibilities.”
In the morning, touch the ground and say, “I return.” At night, “I release.”
Loving Self-Care
Leave post-its for yourself like messages from an invisible friend: “I’m proud of you,” “You made it through again.”
Whisper kind things into a folded paper and keep it under your pillow.
Invent several indoor and outdoor “rooms”, each with unique energy and meaning—one space could represent creativity, another tranquility, another courage.
Keep a “praise book” where you write loving things you wish someone would say to you.
Keep a dedicated LOVELIES journal where you record anything that seems wonderful—new insights, a beautiful flower or scent, even a meaningful coincidence.
Create a ritual of placing one heart-shaped object (a rock, sticker, stamp) in a spot where you’ll find it later.
