Pain can be reduced through compression of periperal nerves using temporary bandaging.
Bandages are most commonly used for covering wounds and checking bleeding. However, if an elasticized wrap is placed on a leg or arm starting at the outside and wrapping around the limb, coming in toward the body, it can be used for pain control during transport. Do not leave the wrap on longer than necessary, however, or it may slow wound healing and decrease circulation.
